State IRTA Membership
Mary Jo Gorman, chairperson
Sula Sampson, associate membership chairperson
Membership is open to both active and retired teachers and administrators who either live or have taught in Lake County, Indiana. Spouses also are qualified to become members.
- Yearly dues are $10 and are not included when paying for the state of Indiana Retired Teachers Association dues. Although the LCRTA is an affiliate of the state organization, dues must be paid separately. Consider using the convenient deduction from your September retirement for state-level membership.
- The membership year begins September 1 of each calendar year and continues through August 31 of the following year. We ask that your dues be received before March 1 of the membership year. Dues received after that date will apply to the following membership year.
- Your new membership materials are mailed in August with the newsletter along with an addressed envelope to send your check. The membership form is printed in a different color each year so please destroy copies from earlier years.
- Alternately, you can click on the following link LCRTA regular membership form. Download and save this document, fill it out and mail it. ($10 per year - active teachers are welcomed as members too!)
- If you have membership questions or suggestions, please contact our membership chairperson Mary Jo Gorman or Sula Sampson. You can use the current Legislative Action Directory, which is issued to all LCRTA members for the email address. Alternately, you can use our email contact form on the Officers Page in the LCRTA web site to send an email, which will be directed to the correct contact person.
State IRTA Membership
- You may wish to also join the state IRTA. Note that this membership is separate from the LCRTA. There are several on-line membership options as shown on the state IRTA site. These options are available by going here.
- Additionally, the state web site provides a downloadable form that can be filled out manually and then mailed to the state address. The downloadable form is available by going here.
